The laying of artificial turf is actually very easy. Simply put it flattened, cut the right size, and glue the edges and joint. When laying on a flat floor, the back of the lawn does not need to be bonded as a whole. BY Turf itself has good leveling retention and overall strength, We just need to glue the joint between two pieces of lawn with special turf adhesive. And also for the periphery of the entire site, such as when the lawn is connected to the open space, the glue on the back edge of the lawn needs to be directly bonded to the ground to prevent frequent kicking and tripping. Laying down complex parts such as stairs, walls and flower benches requires all the back of the turf to be fully glued. Glue is recommended to use turf-specific glue. Ordinary universal glue is prone to problems such as degumming, non-water resistance and aging resistance.
Here are the steps:
1. Inspection Basic Ground work.
Remove the debris in the foundation. If there is any unevenness, it should be repaired and leveled in time. The construction site must be cleaned to ensure the cleanliness and quality of the environment. Cement ground or asphalt ground is better.
2. Artificial Turf Construction
1) Lay the lawn on the ground according to specifications, and overlap 3 to 8 mm between the lawns.
2) Cut the overlapping lawn evenly, and the seam should be no more than 3mm.
3) Spread joint tape under the cutting area, and brush the lawn with special glue on the joint surface. After the fingers feeling it dry, they will be joined and beat firmly.
4) Glue coating: It is required to apply even thickness on the surface of the joint tape. Do not apply glue repeatedly, otherwise foaming will occur and even fall. When the base cloth is glued, the thickness of the glue is strictly controlled. Note that the glue application speed should be appropriate. When glueing, the glue should be applied to the two bonded surfaces.
5) Adhesion: According to the actual influence of conditions such as temperature, humidity, air pressure at that time, reasonably control the drying time. Generally, within 10-30 minutes after the glue is applied, the glue should reach 80% to 90% dry and it is better to touch it without sticking. When bonding, it is necessary to align the sticks at one time, and do not move the bonded objects back and forth after sticking.
6) Pressure: After bonding, remove the surface debris, and use a special rubber hammer to hammer from the bonding point to both sides to make the surface fully contact and compact, and the bonding is stronger.
7) Curing: The curing time is generally three days, and the final strength is generally ten days. Care should be taken during curing to avoid exposure, water immersion and movement, and the best state of bonding has been achieved.
8) After bonding, before the sand and rubber particles are sprinkled, the site's lawn cutting debris needs to be cleaned.（Basicly not suitable for landscaping artificial grass）
3. Dos and Don’ts
1) After the artificial turf arrives, do not rush to cut it. Spread the turf completely and let it as it is for at least 24 hours. It will completely release the stress generated during the production and transportation of the artificial turf, and adapt the turf to the new environment's thermal expansion and contraction to avoid paving. The back seams are too large.
2) When cutting artificial turf, do not pursue a good one-size-fits-all approach, it is better to cut a little bit larger, and then trim and trim a little bit, in case the gap is too large after the small cut, slow work can produce fine work. When cutting artificial turf, turning the turf up and cutting from the back is easier.
3) The underside of the lawn, the joint tape, etc. must be cleaned and the surface should be dry and free of moisture.
The ambient temperature should be selected above 5 ℃ for construction. Adhesive must use turf glue for lawn, and it should not be applied under rain or mildew weather, otherwise it will cause too long bonding time or even cause non-sticking. When applying glue, be careful not to apply glue to the grass, otherwise the seams will be more obvious.
4) The glue between the seam cloth and the cement floor does not need to be glued. At the same time as the glue is saved, the suspended state of the lawn is conducive to drainage and release of displacement caused by thermal expansion and contraction during use.
5) When cutting, make sure that the direction of the lodging of the grass is the same, otherwise there will be obvious color difference.
